Charity Fundraising Event for Educational Institutions

During the Charity Sale-Taishan Manmade Bamboo Basket and Mochi event at The Great Learning, Chairman A-Yuan Tsai Huang from New Taipei City Chung Neng Innovation Association was invited to demonstrate how to make bamboo baskets and mochi with MCUT’s first-year students. These items were then sold at a charity sale held in November, and the total income of NT$12,700 was donated in full to local charity groups in Taishan in support of the local senior citizens.

Students visited Chi You Chi Organic Farm in Linkou District, New Taipei City, during the Organic Agricultural Field course. Teacher Kun-Feng Chen led the students to learn about plant cultivation, harvesting, chicken feeding, and egg collection from the nearly one hundred chickens at the farm. This hands-on experience helped the students understand the environmentally friendly organic agricultural practices that promote the sustainable use of natural resources. Furthermore, all the agricultural products collected and harvested were sold at the "Miracle Home-Elderly-friendly Market," generating an income of NT$ 8,500, which was donated to the Miracle Home.

The success of charity sales activities depends on more than just individual effort. This program encourages students who are often preoccupied with their smartphones to take a break from technology and focus on a single task while learning about the importance of public welfare. To further engage students in social activities and increase public benefits, we plan to incorporate local cultural issues, environmental education, and support for immigrant families into charitable themes in 2024. This will allow us to practice community care and continuously promote a new local mutual benefit and prosperity model.
