【Sustainability Training】 ISO 50001 Education and Training - Practical Planning of Energy Management Systems

publish date : 2024-03-29

Today, our school continues to conduct ISO 50001 education and training focusing on the practical planning of energy management systems. This course reinforces relevant personnel's understanding of how to assess energy usage, including investigating equipment usage, establishing equipment evaluation forms and equipment registration forms, and learning to develop an energy baseline using information gathered during initial energy audits.

2023 is projected to be the hottest year on record, marking humanity's entry into an era of global warming. With only six years left to achieve the Paris Agreement's target of limiting global warming to 1.5°C, it is imperative to accelerate efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Global greenhouse gas emissions must decrease by 28% by 2030, and to stay within the 1.5°C limit, a substantial 43% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions is necessary. Implementing the ISO 50001 energy management system, through scientific and data-driven methods, combined with relevant survey data, can help consider suitable energy usage practices for the school in the future. This can assist in enhancing energy efficiency improvements for major energy-consuming equipment in the school and provide another avenue for the rational allocation of energy resources. Through allocation and adjustment, the goal of reducing greenhouse gas emissions can be achieved.
