【Environmental Education】Ming Chi Secondhand Market: A Wide Variety of Items and the Joy of Treasure Hunting

publish date : 2024-05-22

Every time students move out of the dormitories, numerous items are brought out from the dorms. If not properly sorted and utilized, these items become waste and are discarded. In line with the trend of advocating for environmental sustainability and promoting a circular economy, Ming Chi is organizing a free exchange event at the secondhand market from May 22 to June 28.

The free exchange event at the secondhand market has entered its third year and brings new innovations this year. In addition to the atrium on the second floor of the General Building, the event has expanded to include the areas outside Dormitories 1 and 2 (next to the store) and the basement of Dormitory 5. The secondhand items are categorized into ten distinct categories, offering donors and treasure hunters a wider variety of choices. From trendy items to household goods, from books and stationery to electronic products, even mattresses and umbrellas can be donated and taken. Each category offers a rich selection; all you need to do is fill out a donation/claim form to allow useful items to enter the circular economy. This not only reduces carbon emissions but also saves costs. Join the annual free exchange event at the secondhand market now!

At this secondhand market, you can discover many surprises and treasures. Perhaps you are looking for a professional book filled with notes, or you want an insulated cup or a bowl for instant noodles, or maybe you want an extra mattress for a more comfortable sleep. You might even want to add some small toys to your dorm room. All these can be found at the secondhand market.

In addition to reducing carbon emissions and being environmentally friendly, participating in the secondhand market is also a fun treasure-hunting experience. Interacting with different donated items allows you to learn more about the stories behind them and discover the culture and style of different departments. Each participation becomes an interesting memory.
