The award ceremony for the "2023 TCSA Taiwan Corporate Sustainability Awards," organized by the Taiwan Sustainable Energy Research Foundation (TCSA), took place today after the unveiling of the results. Ming Chuan University was honored with the "Gold Award for University Sustainability Reports." The university, dedicated to sustainable development, aims to achieve a 20% reduction in campus carbon emissions by 2026. Having published three sustainability reports to date, the university's efforts in promoting campus sustainability and fulfilling its social responsibilities have been widely recognized.
This year, a total of 45 universities participated in the competition, highlighting the trend of integrating SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals), ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance), and other sustainability issues into university administration. Through the process of compiling sustainability reports, universities have realized that, beyond academic research, sustainability principles should be timely incorporated into the mid-to-long-term goals of university administration through governance, teaching, and social responsibility. This approach helps universities practice ESG and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). In the future, the university will continue to promote energy conservation, waste reduction, cloud monitoring system implementation, green procurement, and integrate smart building and green energy systems in new constructions. Through concrete actions, the university aims to achieve efficient energy savings and carbon reduction, realizing a sustainable campus aligned with sustainable development goals.
