【Environmental Education】Environmental Education Lecture Series for the 1st Semester of the 112th Academic Year - Taipei City Hakka Cultural Park: Tea Dyeing Hands-on Experience
On the morning of October 18th, Ming Chi in collaboration with the Taipei City Hakka Cultural Foundation, hosted an environmental education lecture at the Taipei City Hakka Cultural Park. Situated in the Zhongzheng District of Taipei City, this park preserves the rich cultural heritage of the Hakka people and serves as a versatile urban park with six core elements: "Humanities, Ecology, Education, Technology, Industry, and Agritourism." The park is designed to be both waterfront and representative of the Hakka culture, providing a multi-faceted space for citizens.
Amidst the profound Hakka atmosphere, professional dyeing artists explained the history and origins of tea dyeing to participants, allowing students, teachers, and local residents to understand the cultural significance behind it. Through hands-on experiences in creating their own tea-dyed artworks, participants gained a deeper appreciation for the intricacy and complexity of tea dyeing art and learned about its rich cultural heritage.
Additionally, the visit to the Hakka Cultural Park, with its precious artifacts and exhibitions, provided a better understanding of the diverse Hakka culture. The incorporation of sustainable concepts in the design process of various exhibition areas within the park allowed participants to gain insights into the wisdom of our ancestors during the guided tour.
