publish date : 2024-11-22

Ming Chi University of Technology (MCUT) has been honored for the second consecutive year with the Gold Award for Sustainability Report under the Taiwan Corporate Sustainability Awards (TCSA) and Taiwan Sustainable University Awards (TUSA), organized by the Taiwan Sustainable Energy Research Foundation (TAISE). This year, the TCSA has introduced the "2024 1st Taiwan Sustainable University Awards (TUSA)" to recognize universities as a separate category, highlighting their outstanding achievements and progress in advancing sustainability and fulfilling social responsibilities.

Ming Chi has also received significant recognition in global rankings this year. In the latest Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings 2025, the university improved by 63 places from the previous year, reaching 1,089th globally. Additionally, in the 2024 THE Impact Rankings, Ming Chi ranked within the 401–600 range worldwide, maintaining its position as the leading private technical university in Taiwan. These accomplishments reflect Ming Chi's dedication to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and continual improvement.

Ming Chi has long been committed to promoting the United Nations SDGs. This year, it developed its first-ever Campus Sustainability Landscape Map, showcasing the campus's rich ecological resources, SDG-themed imagery, and the history of sustainability efforts at MCUT. This initiative not only raises awareness of campus ecology among students and faculty but also encourages their participation in environmental conservation, integrating sustainability into daily education and life.

To protect ecological conservation, Ming Chi has been publishing Ecological Journals since 2019, using digital formats to document the campus's biodiversity and actively safeguarding natural resources. Furthermore, MCUT remains dedicated to creating a green campus through initiatives such as plastic reduction policies, energy conservation, and carbon reduction projects, striving to build an ecological school and foster a sustainable environment.
